" Utilize the Entire Team
Mr. Franco states that businesses interested in creating new plans should implement the resources of the entire team. He asserts that the team effort is the most ideal method to "create, execute, and test your disaster plan" (Franco 35). He then offers an example of a business called 'Brass Light Gallery' that implements his suggestion on utilizing the team effort. This Milwaukee-based lighting manufacturer/marketer business uses teams in each of their facilities with overwhelming success especially when dealing with recent fire breakouts due to over heated machinery within their warehouses.
" Plot an Escape Route
Mr. Franco suggests that businesses should plot an escape route in the event of such disasters. An organized escape plot can mean the difference between life and death. Panicking and out of control individuals may end up hurting themselves and others. This is a situation that can possibly be avoided by effective training and practice. In the case of September 11th, companies on the very top floor of the towers could have trained their personnel to utilize a parachute and have one ready for such emergencies. Who knows? This cautionary method could have at least saved a life.
